A s a staunch advocate of the owner, Integrated Facilities Solutions skillfully guides a remodeling or construction project through the complex and confusing maze from planning through completion. From assisting with the defining of the project and setting goals to managing the move-in, IFS applies proven management processes and skills to minimize risk and assure a successful project. We are not a developer, a contractor or a designer. We focus solely on the owner's interests to assure appropriate checks and balances between design and construction decisions. With our background of managing all components of a project and our unique focus, we are well positioned to help the owner achieve the greatest value with minimal risk.
A History of Service and Success
IFS was founded in 1998. Our founder, Tim Vander Molen, managed the facilities for a large Chicagoland healthcare provider for 28 years. His administrative responsibilities included facility planning, construction management, facility maintenance, grounds, property management and bio-medical engineering for multiple facilities that included hospitals, ambulatory care centers, medical office buildings and other various community and clinical locations. This comprehensive exposure to many types of facilities, equipment and departments provided the basis to form a Program Management (Owner Representative) firm uniquely qualified to assist an owner on projects.
Within two years, IFS grew to a firm of 12 full-time employees managing more than $100 million of construction and remodeling projects. Today, the IFS team includes 20 employees actively managing projects totaling approximately $300 million, 90% of which are healthcare related. These projects range from infrastructure improvements to site changes and parking decks; from general office space to clinical laboratories and high-tech areas like radiology and Operating Rooms. In this wide range of projects, IFS provides Program and Project management services that are adjusted to meet the Owner's needs and the depth of service demanded for a successful project.
